TERMS AND CONDITIONS 


1. Payments and fees 


1.1 In order for a place to be kept open for your child in our classes, payment is required monthly in advance.


1.2 Signing up through our class for kids link is the only registration and payment method KDC will accept. We are not able to accept cash or cheques or monthly fees. 


1.3 There is an annual admin/enrolment fee of £10 per person to cover insurances & licenses.


1.4 We reserve the right to make changes to these amounts and/or collection date if necessary. In this case, you will be given notice via email prior to collection.


1.5 Fees are reviewed annually. 


1.6 The system we use is ClassForKids. All registrations are set through this system.  Following registration you must set up payment accordingly.


1.7 All payments are due on or before the 1st of every month. Failure to make payments on time will incur a £10 late fee charge & may result losing your place in chosen class(es). If you are having trouble paying, please speak to the head coaches and we will do our best to help. 


1.8 Prices are spread across 11 months and worked on a 52 week basis with all holidays already deducted. 


1.9 Fees and event payments are non-refundable.


1.10 You must reference your child’s name when making payments as per below: e.g ‘Emma Smith fees’.


1.11 No refund will be given if your child misses class.


1.12 no refund will be given if you send the wrong amount or pay in error these will be taken off towards the following months fees. 


2. Cancellation


2.1 All unattended lessons are still payable. 


2.2 private lessons/solos must have a 48hr cancellation notice via email otherwise will remain pay-able, should you give notice KDC will reschedule. 


2.3 No refund will be given if a child wishes to leave or cancel a class or if they have been expelled from the school due to misconduct


2.4 In the event of a session being cancelled due to conditions out with our control, fees will be non-refundable. We will reschedule these practices to a later date to replace these classes.


3. Clothing 


3.1. KDC branded merchandise is available to order directly from our online pro shop - tights, shoes etc can also be bought via ID dance wear at hunters hill 

Or online retailers. 


3.2. No jewellery or accessories to be worn to Fame KDC classes for obvious safety reasons – exception stud earrings can be worn at own risk


3.3. Class uniform must be worn at every session 


3.4 Hair should be in a neat and tidy ponytail / bun and out of face at ALL classes.


3.5 Any student wishing to take part in our performances will be required to participate in our fundraising events throughout the year to help cover costumes. Anything that cannot be covered by fundraising will be billed accordingly.


4. Classes and performances 


4.1 KDC aim to provide the very best training. We will implement fun and discipline to do this. If we feel that any student is being disruptive on a regular basis we will issue a verbal warning. If this continues, we will speak to parent or guardian about the matter. 


4.2 Promotional pictures and footage will be taken throughout the year during classes; we will require a written request if you do NOT wish for your child to take part. We may also work in collaboration with outside media companies in line with our data protection policy. 


4.3. Our annual performance will be recorded professionally. Personal cameras and recording equipment are not permitted at our annual show.


4.4. All mobiles phones must be switched off whilst class is in session.  Anybody using their phones during class will have the phone confiscated and returned at the end of the session. 


4.5. We advise that your child does not bring any valuables (i.e. phones, jewellery etc.) with them to the classes. KDC do not accept any liability for lost or damaged belongings. Any belongings should have child’s name clearly marked. 


4.6. No child will be allowed to leave the premises without a parent/guardian (unless arranged otherwise) Your child’s safety is paramount to us.


4.7. KDC cannot be held responsible for any injuries incurred during dance class. Coaches will ensure students are learning and progressing in a safe manner. 


4.8. If you are going to be late to pick your child up, you must make contact the head coaches to inform us. 


4.9 If you wish to add/drop a class, please email to notify us at Karadancecompany@gmail.com, then amend via your ClassForKids account. 


5.Attendance 


5.1 is a fundamental necessity for the teacher/choreographer to have the time to work with the students; therefore all pupils are expected to meet a 80% minimum attendance. Parents are asked to contact us when their child is absent giving an indication of the reason.


5.2 Choreography for Performances: When working towards group choreography for competitions or performances, should attendance drop bellow 80% we reserve the right to alter students’ positions and if deemed necessary, he/she will be removed from a section or the whole piece.


5.3 Lateness Policy

Students are expected to arrive on time. Dance is a physical activity that requires the body to be warmed up in order to execute movement safely. Late students miss the proper warm-up and therefore may sustain an injury. Students who arrive more than 10 minutes late may be asked to observe the class for reasons of health.


5.4 Discipline 


5.5 Unruly, disruptive behaviour in class will not be tolerated. We have a strict antibullying policy in place and expect our students to always adhere to this. 


5.6 We believe in teaching boundaries and setting a good example in line with our positive ethos to build our student’s confidence.


5.7 Our staff will not tolerate abusive or disruptive behaviour from students or parents. We will treat everyone with respect and appreciate the same in return. 


5.8 If a child/parent displays consistent unruly or aggressive behaviour, this could result in termination of class membership and exclusion from our program.


6. General 


6.1 Any medical conditions must be disclosed upon registration, and the responsibility falls on you, the parent/guardian, to update us when necessary thereafter. It is imperative that we are always fully aware of any health implications, for your child’s safety and your own peace of mind. 


6.2 KDC communication is made via email and social media. Please ensure you follow our social media platforms for recent updates and continue to check spam/junk email folders. It is the parent/guardian’s responsibility to keep up to date with all relevant information regarding their child. 


6.3 From time to time, it will be essential for physical contact to take place between the teacher and student/peers. We always encourage safe practice and support students in doing so. 


6.4 Our annual show is optional, therefore show participation is not compulsory.


6.5 No parents allowed in the studio during classes.


6.6 No interrupting classes whilst in session. All questions must be addresses at end of class or alternatively please feel free to email of message KDC facebook page.


6.7 No one is permitted to use our ‘KDC’, our logo or any other abbreviation of our name on any other merchandise. All merchandise is official and ordered via our pro shop or us.


6.8 Please ensure that the parking outside our studio doors are kept clear.


6.9 All choreography and custom music is highly protected and should not be shared, traded or shown with others unless permitted by us KDC


6.10 Photographs or videos may be taken by the school staff or appointed professionals for promotional use for our programme. These images and recordings may be used, reproduced and distributed in print ie flyers/posters, electronically on our social media platforms, websites & emails. It’s the parents/guardians responsibility to inform a staff member if they do not permit this.


7.COMPETITIONS 


7.1If a dancer leaves throughout the season when costumes have been purchased or in the process of being ordered you the parent will be responsible to pay this. 


7.1 We base all our teams on levels if we feel your child can not keep up in their team allocated or doesn’t meet the attendance criteria we have the right to remove the child from our competition teams. 


8) Health and Safety

KDC take seriously their responsibility to ensure the health and safety of all participants, teachers, and volunteers; and takes appropriate measures to make sure the environment is safe for all.

The School will undertake regular risk assessments regarding premises hired and any concerns will be raised with the providers.

Dance is as an active engagement as any sport, and whilst every effort is made to avoid them, injuries can happen. The school accepts no responsibility for injuries sustained via any means other than a teacher’s negligence.
